Stanley Andrews was the voice of Daddy Warbucks on radio's Little Orphan Annie, the Old Ranger in TV's Death Valley Days, and was in Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, Beau Geste, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Ox-Bow Incident, and It's a Wonderful Life.


Jerry Fielding was composer, conductor, and musical director. Nominated for an oscar three times for film work, he wrote many TV theme songs.


Ella Raines acted in Corvette K-225, Cry Havoc, Phantom Lady, and Tall in the Saddle. She was on the cover of Time magazine 2 times.

Howard McNear played Floyd, the barber, on the Andy Griffith Show, and played Doc on the radio version of Gunsmoke.


James Bellah was a WW1 pilot through the Canadian Air Force, served in WW2 and Korea, and wrote 19 novels including The Valiant Virginians and Blood River.


This is the mausoleum. Howard is in a side aisle of small markers on the right, and James is on the left.

Dean Paul Martin, son of entertainer Dean Martin, had a teen singing group with Desi Arnaz, Jr in the 60's, and was an actor. He crashed his Air Force jet into a mountain during a snowstorm.


Grant Williams is most notable for his role as The Incredible Shrinking Man. He was also a tenor operatic singer.


Royal Dano, Sr was an actor, frequently cast as a preacher, or Abraham Lincoln. He was famous for his deep croaky voice, and is the voice of Lincoln at Disney attractions.

Myra Keaton was a vaudeville performer and film actress. She was the mother of actor Buster Keaton.


Jeffrey Hunter was an actor, most famous as John Wayne's sidekick in The Searchers, as Jesus Christ in King of Kings, and as Capt. Christopher Pike in the original pilot of Star Trek.


Emily McLaughlin was an actress on TV's General Hospital for 13 years, and in the famous "pig-face" Twilight Zone. She was briefly married to, and is buried next to, Jeffrey Hunter.

Wally Schirra was a test pilot, Navy officer, and one of the original Mercury 7 astronauts. He is the only person to fly in all of the first three space programs Mercury, Gemini and Apollo. (Cenotaph).


Nearby Marine base Camp Pendleton was named after Maj Gen Joseph Pendleton. In 40 years of service he saw duty in the Philippines, Cuba, West Indies, and commanded locally in San Diego.

Milton Haney was a chaplain in the 55th Illinois Infantry, and earned a Medal of Honor in the Civil War.


Charles Wysocki was an American painter, whose works depict a stylized version of American life of yesteryear. While some of his works show horseless carriages, most depict the horse and buggy era.

Eddie Anderson was a black comedian and actor. His most famous role was that of Rochester van Jones, valet of Jack Benny, on his radio and TV shows.


Charlotta Bass, unnamed on her husband's marker, was an educator, newspaper publisher-editor, and civil rights activist. In 1952 Bass became the first African-American woman nominated for Vice President, as a candidate of the Progressive Party.


Donaldina Cameron was a Presbyterian missionary, who advocated for social justice. She rescued and educated over 3,000 Chinese slave girls and women in San Francisco from 1895 to 1934.

Paul Monette was an author, poet, and activist in the gay community. His memoirs, Becoming a Man: Half a Life Story, won the 1992 National Book Award for non-fiction.


Burt Mustin started TV and film acting at age 67, in The Dick Van Dyke Show, Leave It to Beaver, Dragnet, The Andy Griffith Show, The Brady Bunch, Petticoat Junction, My Three Sons, Bewitched, Adam-12, and All in the Family.

Susan Cabot had a minor acting career culminating in 1960's Wasp Woman. She had an affair with King Hussein of Jordan who broke it off after discovering she was Jewish. She was bludgeoned to death by her son. She could use a better marker. (She'll get one later...)


Shelly Novack played wide receiver for the San Diego Chargers for 2 years before getting into acting. "There were all these pretty girls around, so I stuck around." He won the first Toyota Grand Prix pro-am race.


Neil Bogart was a recording executive and co-founded Casablanca Records featuring KISS and T-Rex. He helped develop disco with the Village People and Donna Summer, then went New Wave.

Merlin Olsen played pro football 15 years with the LA Rams with 14 Pro Bowl appearances. He acted in Little House on the Prairie as farmer Jonathan Garvey, then starred as Father Murphy.


Laura Scudder was a nurse and attorney before she pioneered sealing her potato chips in bags, and was the first to date-stamp the packaging.


William Keck started Superior Oil, and the W. M. Keck Foundation, which helped construction of the giant Keck Telescopes through a $140 million grant.

Carmine Coppola was a composer, flautist, editor, musical director, and songwriter. He helped score the three Godfather movies, and Apocalypse Now, directed by his son Francis Ford Coppola.


Eddie Garr was the Master of Ceremonies on TV's Vanities On Parade and other variety shows, and acted in movies and TV. He was the father of actress Terrie Garr.


Michael Maltese was a long-time storyboard artist and screenwriter for classic animated cartoon shorts, including For Scent-imental Reasons and the public health documentary, So Much for So Little, both oscar winners.

Honorable Wu was an actor in Passage From Hong Kong, Ellery Queen And The Perfect Crime, Mr. Moto Takes A Vacation, North Of Shanghai, The Crime Of Dr. Hallet, and The Stowaway with Shirley Temple.


Tod Browning was a film actor and director, most famous for directing Dracula, and Freaks. Had a low-key relationship with Anna May Wong (below) due to the fact she was Chinese-American, and underage.


Actress Anna May Wong is buried with her sister and mother.


She was born in San Francisco, and became the first Asian (Chinese) leading lady. She did much of her work in Europe, free from the laws and prejudice of the USA where mixed-race kisses were banned on screen.

Connie Curtis Crayton was an American R&B and blues guitarist and singer. One of his first recordings was the instrumental, Blues After Hours, which reached #1 in the Billboard R&B chart.


Samuel Hinds played Peter Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life, was in You Can't Take It With You, Destry Rides Again, and the Abbott & Costello films Buck Privates, Ride 'Em Cowboy and Pardon My Sarong.




Jheryl Busby worked at Stax Records, A&M Records and Casablanca Records before becoming the President and CEO of Motown Records.

Carleton G. Young played the lead in The Adventures of Ellery Queen, the role of Edmond Dantes in The Count of Monte Cristo, the lead in The Whisperer, and was in Leave It to Beaver as Gilbert's father.


Cornell Gunter joined the Coasters after they moved to New York, famously singing the #1 Yakety-Yak. He and the other Coasters are in the Hall of Fame. He was shot in his car.


Chet Baker was a jazz trumpeter, who early in his career played with Stan Getz and Charlie Parker. A heroin addiction resulted in prison and expulsion from several European countries. He died in an accidental fall.

Maurice McLoughlin was a tennis player. He won the singles championship in 1912 and 1913, and doubles with Thomas Bundy, 1912-1914. In 1913 he became the first American finalist in singles at Wimbledon. He was the World #1 in 1914.


Wallace Neff was a So Calif architect and helped develop the region's distinct "California" style, based on Spanish and Mediterranean. He designed Pickfair, the mansion of Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks.


Hugh Sanders acted in movies including Birdman of Alcatraz, and a long list of TV including The Lone Ranger, Highway Patrol, Perry Mason and Bonanza.
