Pentax in the movies!

I was just watching a new flick that came out in March 2008 called "Shutter", basically a remake of a 2004 horror movie from Thailand concerning a photographer and his girlfriend who are involved in a tragic auto accident and subsequently begin to notice ghostly figures in the backgrounds of their pictures. In one scene, just before the ghost injures the photographer, I saw this:

I'm not sure which model it is, but it appeared to be the K100D just by the layout of the back buttons and he also used the kit lens, which is surprising since he is supposed to be a professional photographer shooting models. One would think he would have used a better lens for this.

It IS good to see though that Pentax product placement is happening in the movies!

I noticed too, but just now I couldn't remember which movie I saw it in so thanks for reminding me

Not a movie, but Claire in the TV series Six Feet Under is using some K-series body I believe. I'm not sure which.

Tour de France, not in a movie but on tele

as many of you may be aware of, there is now the Tour de France going on.
On Dutch tele there si each evening a talkshow-like program covering the tour and each day they invite a guest. Last week they had a TV presenter who likes photography so he was followed while shooting.
He carried a Pentax.

In a swedish commercial for Loka (mineral water), there is a pro-photographer who is using a Pentax 67 (well, they've erased the Pentax logo, but I'm sure it's the Pentax 67, the one with a wooden handle)

Hmm, well I think it's a commercial for Loka, I almost only noticed the camera

Pentax in the Movies and Media

I haven't had a lot to do during the holidays so I have been watching a bit of TV. As I was flipping around the channels I happened to stop and watch a bit of the 1964 movie "A Hard Days Night" by the Beatles. I could hardly believe my eyes as I see Ringo sporting a Pentax SLR during one scene. It might just be a prop as he eventually dunks it in a pond taking a self portrait, but there it is for the world to see.

Has anyone else seen Pentax cameras used in movies?

Ah!!! "Those were the days my friend" (pun intended) that Pentax ruled the world.

Yes, American Gangster - there was a thread a while back.

Not in the movies, but your post reminded me that Paul McCartney is said to have owned a Pentax SV. I hope that wasn't it that Ringo dunked.
